Our recommended standard scenario for Microsoft Servers is to utilise the free virtual licence to run them as a virtual server on Hyper V. This can expand out to include a virtual Terminal Server on the same physical server if required. The main advantages of this design are fast disaster recovery and performance. Gone are the days of racks of servers or multiple towers. One powerful server is all that is required for most businesses requiring virtualisation.

We have also implemented virtual workstations to deliver dedicated functions for clients. One example is a Microsoft VM running Outlook to do automatic scheduling of appointments from a company website – no extra hardware required as this is all the virtual PC does.
